Notes: A dog that is bound to make you smile, Tarzan could very well hold the longest tongue record at the shelter to date. It would not all fit in his mug shot! Tarzan had be deemed a housebroken dog at the shelter, but a three-month adoption has ended and Tarzan was brought back to the shelter for ostensibly not being housebroken and "getting into everything" according to his adopter. This people-friendly, goofy lab mix will tolerate just about anything including touching his paws, grabbing his tail and demanding a big chest hug --a reliable stamp of approval for kid-safety. Tarzan is very active and playful, so he would not be great for people who work all day and watch TV all night. Tarzan needs plenty of exercise, for which he will reward his new owner richly. It could very well be that boredom and lack of stimulation has led this dog back to the shelter where a more appropriate placement is sought. It is also surprising that even though Tarzan knows and executes without fail "sit", "paw", "down", "stay" and not only retrieves the ball every time, but puts it in your hand, that this very bright dog could not be housebroken in a few days.
