Kitty Korner: Special Cats Who Need Special People

Free Feral Free Fur-All

Some cats at our shelter have not been properly socialized with humans and are very difficult to place. Instead of confining them to cages, we offer these cats for free to caring people to make a better life for them. Adopters are to provide food, shelter and vet care when necessary. WAHS will provide rabies,  distemper and feline leukemia vaccinations  to your cat for the duration of your pairing.

Five cats from the same home ... all great and yet overlooked.

All of these cats have a common bond. They all came from the same house. These cats were loved and cared for their whole lives by a wonderful husband and wife team. When the gentleman passed away and the wife was not healthy enough to take care of them their estate took incredible measures to make sure these cats would be placed in facilities that would ensure they got good homes.

These cats are in good health and have excellent temperaments. They are all between 5-7 years old, which makes them excellent candidates for a home with children. These cats are patient and kind. They thrive on attention and would be great companies for any human.

We took in several of these cats and a couple have been adopted. The others have been overlooked because of their age. They still have a lot of love to give and life to live. Please come into the shelter and give them a chance to show you just how wonderful they are. You won’t be disappointed.

Oscar Waiting to Be Awarded With a Home

Oscar was in an abandoned house all alone. He is around 10 years old and has lived a rough life. His most favorite thing is to look out the window and talk to the birds. We will hear him singing to them from across the room, his is a very distinctive cry. He is not shy and loves to be petted. He would like a quiet home, but would do well with older children. He enjoys soft food since he has lost a lot of teeth. He is litter trained and seems to be in good health.

Donate a Bed

Our cats love to sleep on Kuranda cat beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for another cat to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda Cat Bed. (donations are in sets of two)

A Window Seat for Stretch

Stretch is one of our long timers at the shelter. She has been with us almost a year. She is a quiet cat who is extremely neat and tidy. She is looking for a calm home to call her own. She would get along with a low key dog, as well as a cat with similar traits. A shelter employee took her home for a couple of days to find her true personality. When she was alone or with another cat she was extremely loving, purring at the drop of a hat. Although this employee wanted to keep Stretch in the worst way, she knew that her home wasn’t the right fit. If you could provide a nice quiet home for Stretch with a great window for her to look out of please come to the shelter and meet her.
